So jinrou would usually just kill people all the time, huh? Since they're a food source, or a source of power.
[He sounds vaguely thoughtful about it, as though they're discussing the next door neighbor's somewhat unruly Chihuahua. Granted, he would probably actually sound more excited if they were talking about a Chihuahua, but it's the principle of the analogy.
There's a brief chortle as he considers the rest.]
[ Unlike the silence before, his response here is immediate. Laughing, short but bitter, it seems like he might just roll off the tree branch. Then just as abruptly he stops. ]
I never said I wanted to die. I just don't need to keep living after I get what I want.
Mhmm. To eradicate everyone who thinks they can use me. [ There's no flourish here, no righteous anger or heartfelt declaration. But there is a crispness to his tone, one that carries a razor sharp edge. ]
[There's something almost like delight in there, nearly as sharp as Natsuno's edge, brighter than a blade.]
I think that's a pretty good goal. That means you'll have to go after Feathers eventually, won't you? But it seems like kind of a waste to just eradicate everyone and then stop. You're not even going to enjoy the peace?
Yeah, of course. [ Jostling a little in his increasingly itchy leaf bed, he angles his head better to get a clearer look at Anon. That wasn't the answer he expected, but then again he hadn't really planned on saying this much. ]
I'll deal with that after. But I guess I could.

We definitely need to deal with whichever Witch might be left at the end.
[It's debatable who 'we' is referring to here, tossed out as casually as it is.
As for Anon, he's peering up with one bright red eye, the smile on his face a touch conspiratorial. Maybe mischievous? It's the type of smile that might be saying let's raise hell if they weren't sitting around a poison oak tree being layabouts.]
I'm sure the world would be different if you could be free. If you could shake off everyone. It would be worth seeing.
[For his part, he lets it all settle for a moment, stretching himself out from his position below with a pleased noise.]
Haha, of course we dream. Infernals are pretty much just normal people, with all the normal dreams, and the frustrations and problems and hobbies and everything. We just happen to mostly live in the Underworld, that's all.
[Considering the current specimen on hand that's a bit debatable. Perhaps.]
[ ...ah. That sounds familiar, but maybe not in the comforting way. He's not sure, he's too hungry and tired to think properly. But he can solve one of those right now, at least. ]
Tell me about it another time. Going to sleep, night. [ And totally passing out right here in this poison oak tree. Zzzzz ]
[He blinks, and then looks up and waits a moment in the rustling silence. Welp. There's a short, quiet laugh and he stands and brushes himself off of all the (harmless?) underbrush. Considers the poison oak tree.
... He walks off. Sometimes you just gotta let people learn on their own.]

Is there anything you do like?

[ There's a long silence here which is probably telling on its own. ]
I used to. But I never intended to live long enough to have to figure it out again.
no subject
[That's even more thoughtful, and halfway to himself.
He's busy listening to Natsuno think, after all. Rather loudly, since silences can be loud. Anon doesn't bother to interrupt.]
Hmm. I guess we'll see how you do under the Witch, but I don't think the Foundation's real good at letting people do things they want to, even dying.

I never said I wanted to die. I just don't need to keep living after I get what I want.
no subject
So basically, instead of dying for something, you're living for something!
[Who knows how he got that out of it.]
no subject
That sounds lame when you put it that way. [ ...even if its correct! let him continue to be edgy. ]
no subject
Hahaha, it does sound a little lame, but I guess it depends on what it is you want.
[He can still redeem his edgy license...?]
no subject
The same thing I wanted last time. [ Yawning, the comment is said rather offhandedly.]
no subject
[He gets dragged into a yawn himself, despite still being kind of wired. Maybe he's just a night owl.....]

I didn't know infernals dreamt too.
